After the Cocktail Hour, it’s time to Kick the Party into High-Gear with The Best Wedding Reception Introduction Songs for the Parents (and sometimes Grandparents), the Bridesmaids & Groomsmen, and of course, the Bride & Groom!
To begin with Excitement, the Bride & Groom, along with their Wedding Party are usually Formally-Introduced into the Reception. This introduction is usually done by the Emcee for the evening (the DJ, the Band- Leader, or the Band’s Lead Vocalist).
To make the Introductions even more festive, Upbeat & Ear-Catching Music is played in the background during the Introductions. This Music for the Introductions is similar to what is played when a Sports Team or a Celebrity is introduced at a public event.
Over the years, couples we have served have had us play everything from the “Theme from Austin Powers” to Sports Themes, to Classy, Elegant Jazz/Swing Music. The Key Words here are “Customize" & "Personalize”.
Most couples will either select a Single Song to introduce everyone to or 2-3 Songs for the Whole Group: the first introduction song for the Parents, a second introduction song for the Wedding Party (including the Bridesmaids, Groomsmen, etc) and a third and most exciting song for the Bride & Groom.
In most cases, the songs will be played one after the other and in some cases, they will have to be either edited or cued-up by the DJ to flow smoothly.
Here some of the Most Popular Classic Introduction Songs from the Jazz & Swing era. These set a classy, elegant mood at the beginning of the Reception.
